representation of Bobbitt's work experience from College through his current
Bobbitt Group operations. All of these work and life experiences provides
him with over 40+ years of experience — all of which are available to Bobbitt
Group clients.
Because of
his knowledge and experience Bill is one of the premier consultants to
the automated building industry.
Since the formation of his
consulting service in 1991 Bill has performed consulting work for companies and
individuals in virtually every discipline within the automated building industry
— domestically and internationally. He has reviewed existing businesses
to assess how they can be improved, developed business plans, marketing plans, feasibility studies,
performed strategic planning, reviewed financial plans for institutional
investors, performed sales training and performed hands on manufacturing and
management work for a variety of clients.
(See
clients in Consulting section.)
Bill has
successfully
competed in the international market including the licensing of a steel framed
modular home plant in Haifa, Israel; shipment of modular homes and model home displays
to countries such as Finland and Argentina. He has performed consulting
services in the international market in a number of countries and continues to
work with international clients.
Even
with this vast business acumen in developing and operating new facilities Bill has always been a sales and marketing oriented,
"hands-on" CEO. Bill is an executive who can lead via "I'll show you how it's
done" as well as one who can verbalize and explain procedures in a
no-nonsense, easy to understand manner.
The innovative sales, marketing and builder support
programs that Bill instituted while President and
CEO at KBS soon became the standard the rest of the industry
undertook to achieve. His
expertise in developing award winning sales and marketing programs is almost
legendary in the industry. His ability to hire, train and motivate a sales force
is without equal.
Bill
has been featured in professional publications due to his outstanding sales and
marketing record. One particular article was written by Don O. Carlson featuring
the dramatic sales record of over $11 million in wholesale modulars in only
three days at a PA based trade show. This is just one example of the
proven ability of Bill to develop winning distribution networks and sales and
marketing programs.
Of of Bill's proudest
achievements, vis-à-vis marketing, was the establishment of the
KBS TOUGH
GUY.
This award winning, precedent setting campaign, drew praise inside and outside
of the automated building industry. Prestigious Adweek Magazine touted his
efforts by stating "In the spirit of Mr. Clean and Ronald McDonald
Bobbitt created a spokesperson to foster name brand recognition."
Bill
and his wife Marci purchased
Manufactured Structures
Newsletter, a 30 year old trade publication serving the
many aspects of the automated building industry. Bill and Marci
publish the Newsletter on
a monthly basis and is available on a subscription basis. 3,000 copies of the
Newsletter are published each month.
With
this purchase Bill reorganized his entire operations under the name - Bobbitt’s Manufactured Structures Group.
Over the
years special emphasis has
been placed on urban and inner city business endeavors. His high quality
business plans and knowledge of the automated building technology is helping to
establish new business endeavors throughout the United States.
Bill is in constant demand as
an industry spokesperson. He has spoken at numerous national, regional and local
functions extolling the virtues of industrialized building. He has authored many
articles concerning the industrialized housing industry for industry trade
journals, magazines, periodicals, regional and local newspapers. He has written
a self help book entitled " A Guide To
Successful Selling."
In addition to his demand as a spokesperson
for the industry Bill is equally well known for his positive mental attitude,
motivational presentations. Drawing upon his philosophy "you
can be all that you want to be" Bill encourages his audience to
diligently reach out and strive for their heart's desire. "You can never
get it if you don't work for it. No one is going to simply hand your life goals
to you on a silver platter; and, if they did they certainly would not amount to
much. Success comes at the end of the long, hard road called work, dedication
and perseverance — all performed while maintaining a positive mental
attitude."
Bill serves, and has served, on various
industry related panels, boards and commissions as well as the Board of
Directors on several privately help companies.
Wood frame modulars, steel framed modulars,
wood and steel framed panelized home packages, components, log homes, structural
insulated panels, domestic and foreign. Bill has done some of each in his life
in the automated building industry.
As exemplifies his renown
marketing creation William S. Bobbitt is truly a TOUGH GUY in the
industrialized building industry. He has a bold vision for the
future. A vision that reflects factory building becoming the dominant
force in how the world shelters its citizenry.
Bill
has been honored with a number of industry awards, but he holds the Don O.
Carlson Award, presented to him in the fall of 2000 by the Automated
Builders Consortium for his work and dedication to the factory building
industry, as the most coveted. Bill states this is due to his love and
respect for Carlson, who has been a lifelong friend, supporter, counselor and
mentor.
